Locating U.S. Government Documents with SuDoc Call Numbers As you saw in the lesson that briefly explained the SuDoc system, it differs from both the Dewey and LC systems. It is intended to be used only for U.S. government documents. The way the call number looks is also very different. THERE ARE NO DECIMALS IN THE SuDoc SYSTEM. Each section of the call number should be placed in order individually. And, each should be treated like a counting or whole number. So, A1.comes before A2. which comes before A11. For example, the following call number first sections are in the correct order:
