If you are looking at a shelf with the following call numbers, what is the correct order? The first part of the call number is the same for all of them, PN856. Below are cutters.

Remember that decimal numbers do not change in value with the addition of a "0" at the end. That's one trick you can use when deciding the order of books. One way to more quickly find the correct order is to make all of the decimal numbers the same length by placing the appropriate number of zeros at the end. So, the numbers would then become:

.E20
.E91
.E22
.E50
.E34
.E9

The correct order for the numbers would then be:

.E20
.E22
.E34
.E50
.E67
.E90
.E91
